Comments

“I lived in Nevada City, CA which might just be
one of the the prettiest, most charming little towns in
America. It was, as you put it, a ‘Sundown Town’ for
sure. Actually there is a great deal of interest currently
in the Chinese history of Nevada City. There’s even a
mini ‘memorial’ to Chinese residents who were driven
out. I feel the effort is actually a rather tacky attempt
at easing the conscience of a small group of people.
But, I guess we all do what we can according to our
abilities. Unfortunately, Nevada City is being,
‘Carmelized’ which means it is, most unfortunately,
beginning to look like Carmel, CA. I wonder if all the
charming, desirable small towns in America are going
to begin to look the same after a while?”
