I grew up in Haysville, Ks. I don’t know if there was a written policy,
but I do know of a black family that was run out of town when I was in
high school. That would have been around 1986 or 87. At the time I just
chalked it up to the redneck factor but it could have been more. They
were the only black family that I remember ever being at our school.
Thank goodness it has changed in the last 20 years.
