There are a large number of present/former residents of Mahomet that state that the town did have a sundown law.

An interracial girl was Prom Queen for Mahomet Seymour 1991 and also Homecoming Queen 1991.
Several basketball players from Franklin Middle School in Champaign claimed they were called “the n-word” by Mahomet’s 7th grade coach in a game in the early 2000s.
A black woman hired by a vacuum cleaner sales company to sell vacuum cleaners door-to-door was warned by the company to be out of Mahomet by dark. Probably this was in the 1970s.
