San Jose expelled its Chinese population in February 1886.

San Jose is definitely not a sundown town anymore. When I was in high school (graduated 1981) there were a lot of non-white kids and teachers at my school -- black, hispanic and Asian. White students were a plurality but not the majority, and at that we were the "whitest" school in our district. (Santa Teresa High School [named for the street it was on, not a parochial school] in the East Side Unified District.) I won't try to argue that San Jose is a paradise of interracial harmony or anything, but it's no longer a sundown town.
